Corvus Callosum
Corvus Callosum
Corvus Callosum is drawn with neuroscience equations and neural transmitters. It is meant to illustrate the problem solving of the human brain, using the crow and walnut as a symbol. Scroll down to read the full description.
The Crow on the cracked walnut is an allegory to the clever problem solving of the human brain. There is a ventral view of the human brain inside the walnut. Behind the crow in silver is a pyramid neuron, which is drawn with the Length Constant, Ohm's Law and cable theory to explain signal propagation along axons and dendrites.
The brain is drawn with neuroscience equations such as the Nernst Equation, Membrane Potential, GHK equation. The crow is neural transmitters such as Glutamate and Gaba. Throughout the piece is Dopamine, Glutamate, Gaba and lots of ATP.
*Corvus is the genus of Crows. Callosum is referring to the corpus callosum, which is a major band of nerve fibers allowing for communication across the right and left hemispheres of the brain.
