Throughout this challenge to draw everyday for a year, I learned how to trust myself and how to let go. This series of drawings was a commitment to the rigorous process of creativity, and a pathway to a loving acceptance of failure as part of the process. This collection is a celebration of the creative journey. Each item on this page is an original drawing created in pastel pencil, pan pastel or occasionally color pencil. Each is signed by me and “dated” with the day in the challenge I completed it.

Each print is signed and comes with a full description. Original Sold. This was a commission. There are three available originals available which I created in my process which are available for sale. “Noble”, “Humble” and “Star Stomping”.
The stars above are etched with the triple alpha process, a three step fusion of alpha particles resulting in the creation of carbon-12 and Oxygen-16. This is the basis of life on earth and was likely provided to us long ago through the explosion of supernovae. Below the couple the water lights up with thousands of noctiluca scintillans, bioluminsscent dionflagellates which emit cool blue light when disturbed. They do this by oxidizing luciferin in the presence of luciferase enzymes and oxygen. For those who have gone star stomping, it is debatable as to which light is more brilliant; that from the sea or from the sky. Throughout the piece I have included the speed of light, which is essential in telling the story of how long of a journey that star light has taken to reach us. Within the milky way is a chemical formula for aceytyl formate, which is responsible for the taste of raspberries. Astrobiologists in search of amino acids deep within our milk way found evidence that our milk way tastes faintly of raspberries and smells of rum. While this is a long shot from providing evidence of other life in our galaxy, it is another small thread connecting the curious human being to the universe. Lastly I have etched with the quote “Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars”, and within their legs and water are the coordinates where this moment occurred. The couple is etched with a combination of all the data.
Paper prints are printed on fine art luster paper and are under an archival mat, perfect for beautiful framing.

Canvas prints are coated with 3 layers of UV glaze to protect from fading. Open edition canvas prints are signed by the artist, and stretched on 3/4" wood bars and are ready to hang with two nails or screws.
Limited Edition canvas prints are stretched on 2" - 2.5" wood bars and are wired and ready to hang.
Limited Edition Canvas prints are signed, numbered and dated, come with a magnifying glass and a certificate of authenticity, which includes the limited information and a full description of the numbers used to draw the piece.
